At this point, the only hope for the grove of trees immediately to the north of Wilson Hall is that students will become outraged at the destruction of a 100-year old stand of trees. The President listens to students. If you haven't heard, here's the story:

Just sayin'.
I understand running a college might be tough, but I just keep telling my wife I want to get my degree and just walk away....
ReplyDeleteKevin, I really don't understand your reply. Suresh, I don't understand either. I find the location funny. Wilson Hall will have no close parking. The E lot they speak of will always be full unless they build the parking garage there. Density is a funny word attached to convenience and crammed. As for the trees, they are trees. I'm sure they were planted there by humans. To 'win' an argument would involve demonstrating how they trees have greater value educating students than a new building. Personally I would have them demolish Wilson and build a Super-Wilson like they did Gaines.
ReplyDeleteSorry it was such vague response. I guess I have just been at this college game for so long that nothing really shocks me anymore. The idea is part of safety...which I agree....but we already have a police force that is supposed to be patrolling the area. How often are these officers actually seen on campus? So the ideals of 'safety' are just bogus in my mind. The Super-Wilson idea works....
DeleteLol, the only time I see an MSUPD patrolling campus in their Nikes is when they are guarding a bag of money.
